The fastest crossing of the Sahara desert by bicycle was in 13 days 5 hours 50 minutes and 14 seconds by Reza Pakravan (Iran) between March 4 and March 17, 2011. He set out on March 4 at 30° 00′ 5″ N and 2° 57′ 2″ E in Algeria and completed his journey at 17° 59′ 2″ N and 30° 59′ 4″ E, in Sudan on March 17, 2011.

Tv3’s Nona (Malaysia) is the ‘ Longest Running Women’s TV Programme’ after a 20 year run, as on August 28, 2005, since its inception in 1984.

Amar Ujala Publications Limited, an Indian Newspaper, in association with Chandigarh Police (India), organized a cricket tournament “Amar Ujala Chandigarh Police Gully Cricket League – 2012”, with 557 cricket teams having 9,469 participants in total, at various locations in Chandigarh (India). The closing ceremony was on May 12, 2012 and all the matches were played under the guide lines of ICC rules & regulations.

The largest toothpick mosaic, measuring 49 sq. meters, was created by 250 students of ARJ Institute of Management Studies (India) on March 9, 2012, at their college premises. It was completed in 11 hours 30 minutes, using 4, 26,000 toothpicks. The mosaic had a logo to indicate the awareness towards adopting solar energy.

The largest bean mosaic measuring, 117 sq. metre (9 metre x 13 metre), was created by a total of 400 students of ARJ Group of Institutions, Tamil Nadu (India) by using 1,466 kg of beans on March 10, 2012, at their college premises. The mosaic was completed in 3 hours and 40 minutes and carried the message: “Women Empowerment”.

The longest human domino line was formed by 10,267 participants at the Ordos International Nadam Fair in Ordos City, Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, China, on 12 August 12, 2010.

Kanchana Ketkaew (Thailand), lived in a glass room measuring 12 m² (130 ft²) containing 5,320 scorpions for a duration of 33 days and 33 nights, from December 22, 2008 till  January 24, 2009, at the Royal Garden Plaza, Pattaya, Thailand. She was stung 13 times during her stay with the toxic creature.

Nayankara Devassy Johnson (India) has a collection of a total of 3,309 different candles as on May 1, 2011. He has been collecting these candles since 41 years and has a collection from all over the world.

Sunil Joseph of Bhopal (India) has handwritten the biggest Bible. The holy book consists of 16,000 pages and weighs 61 kg in total. He wrote 7,957 verse of the entire New Testament (each verse on a different page) in just 123 days, staring from August 16, 2005 and ending on December 16, 2005.

Culinary artists Ton Nu Ti Ha and Phan Ton Tinh Hai from Mint Culinary School of HCM city, Vietnam, with the assistance of 18 people, prepared a cake named ‘Royal Phoenix Cake’ (it was in the form of a phoenix), measuring 6.8m in length and 4.2m in width by using various items including mung bean, rice flour, vegetables etc on various Asian classic themes with in a duration of 3 months.
