Dr. Mambet Mamakeev of Kyrgyzstan, set a record for having the longest career as surgeon. Born in 1927, he decided to pursue a life of medicine in 1952, and then specialized in medical surgery from 1953 onwards. He was also presented with the prestigious title of Honorary Citizen of the Republic of Kyrgyzstan in recognition of his achievements in the medical profession. He is over 96-years old and still practicing, as confirmed on May 25, 2023.
