

Chundan Vallam (Beaked Boat or snake boat) also known to the outside world as Kerala snake boats, are one of the icons of Kerala culture and are used in boat race. Aries Punnamada Chundan is the longest Steel Boat measuring 143.25 ft long, 5.74 ft wide and weighing 8 tons and has a canoe crew of 141 members on board; including 136 rowers and 5 helmsmen. It was successfully rowed in public in Kerala, India, on May 1, 2008.
